In 1986, there was only one train station in the middle of the forest, near to Belarus. The Chernobyl nuclear power plant is on the Pripyat River (pictured here in the contaminated area) that reaches the Dnieper south towards Kiev, the capital. The area is very sandy, marked by the geomorphological history of these rivers. Nuclear power plants must be near a river or beside the sea.<br />
